Oh snap!!
Found this really cool site that lists a bunch of youtube tutorials (by the same guy) and ranks them by level, this is the level 1 link, but it goes up to level 3. Good tutorials so far, I'm looking at You're Beautiful by James Blunt, mainly because I need a good romantic song in my repertoire, it super easy, you just need a capo on the eighth fret.

Chugging along
Been at it quite a bit lately lots of fiddling around with random riffs and what not.
Good Riddance is getting there still a bit slow on the chord changes, but I'm keeping at it.
I'm thinking my next song after Good Riddance is gonna either be 21 guns or Wake Me Up When September ends. Unless I can get a Capo for Free Fallin'

Replaced the saddle of my guitar
After visiting the optometrist I stopped by Tom Lee's and bought a new saddle for $1.95 plus the guitar repairman recommended a smaller saddle which means a much lower action on my guitar. Now my guitar is easier to play! Woot!

Progress report
So since I replaced my strings yesterday (was very easy) I've been
practicing time of your life like a madman, got the strumming parts
pretty much down pat, so I started practicing the picking intro, thats
all I'm gonna do for now until I get it, gotta buy myself a .47 mm pick
to help out a little.
How is everyone else coming along?
P.S strings were $5.50 for the pack, picks are $3.99 for about 10 at Tom lee

So I just sat down had for an hour or so. Went through Good Riddance a bunch of times, it's starting to get there. Still need my fingers to move between chords quicker and properly so it doesn't sound like half the strings are muted. Other than that I fiddled around with the Highway to Hell riff and looked up some other tabs. I noticed I don't really know how to read tabs all that well. I mean I get the 6th fret of B string and so on, but its do I cover the strings underneath? am I just using that one string?... Overall though I'm quite happy with the Electric, it works well and is a lot more fun to play than the Acoustic ( it's also much nicer to play and easier on the fingers!)

So you wanna be a geetar hero?
Yeah! Now if only I had my replacement strings I could practice! :'(
TOMORROW!
TOMORROW!
The First post in Geetar Hero!
So I had this idea since a few of us have decided to pick up and learn the guitar. I figured a blog/place to post about our progress, post videos, have some tips or help, and maybe let out some frustration. So that is what this blog will be about, 4 (or any others who decide to join in our endeavour) of us on our way to learning to play the guitar and possibly cover a few songs down the road.
